Set up the first mobile app

In this section, you configure settings for the first mobile app.

Note: This section assumes that you have already downloaded the appropriate sample apps from GitHub.

The first steps are to set up the configuration file.

Modify the configuration file

Make the following modifications in your sample app. Open the existing config.json located under res/raw and add the following values for these parameters:

• client_Id: Enter the Client ID that you copied during the last step.
• redirect_uri: Enter com.first.sample:/callback as the value, which is what you defined as the Login Redirect URI in the Native app that you created in the last step.
• end_session_redirect_uri: Enter com.first.sample:/logout as the value, which is what you defined as the Logout Redirect URI in the Native app that you created in the last step.
• discovery_uri: Enter your Okta domain that appears in the upper-right corner of your Okta org dashboard.

Add the redirect scheme

To redirect back to your application from a web browser, specify a unique URI to your app.

• iOS

To add a redirect scheme for Android, you must define a gradle manifest placeholder in your app's build.gradle.

In your app's build.gradle, add the redirect scheme inside the defaultConfig property. The redirect scheme should match what you used when you modified the config.json file.

For example, if your redirect URI is com.first.sample:/callback, then the appAuth redirect scheme is com.first.sample.

Native sign in

To compile your project, you need to set up the AuthenticationClient with an Org URL. Your Org URL is in the upper-right corner of your Okta Org dashboard. Do this by adding the following to your local.properties file:
