Get submitted credentials

We need to get the values of data.credential.username and data.credential.password from within the body of the request received from Okta. These properties contain the credentials submitted by the end user who is trying to sign in.

First, some basic checks are done to confirm that the properties exist and that they are strings. Then, their values are populated into an object called credentials, which is used later to check against our user store.
